The Ather 450S is equipped with a 2.9 kWh battery capacity, offering an impressive Intelligent Drive Cycle (IDC) range of 115 km on a full charge. This means riders can enjoy extended journeys without the worry of running out of power. The scooter accelerates from 0 to 40 km/hr in just 3.9 seconds, showcasing its swift responsiveness. Furthermore, it boasts an impressive top speed of 90 km/hr, ensuring an exhilarating ride for urban commuters.

A key highlight of the Ather 450S is the host of innovative features that are designed to make every ride safer and more enjoyable. The DeepView Display, with its 7-inch screen, features a high contrast ratio of 1000:1, auto-brightness adjustment, and 18-segment characters for clear visibility. The onboard navigation system offers over 18 directional possibilities, ensuring accurate guidance even in complex traffic situations.

Safety has been a paramount consideration in the Ather 450S’s design. The FallSafe feature is a remarkable addition that detects changes in the scooter’s orientation, speed, and acceleration when a rider is at risk of falling. In such instances, the motor is automatically switched off to prevent skidding, while flashing indicator lights alert other road users to the potential hazard.

A significant advancement in safety technology is the inclusion of the Emergency Stop Signal, a feature that has been introduced for the first time in the Indian market, drawing from European regulations. Ather 450S charging options

The Ather Grid fast chargers have also received attention, promising impressive charging speeds of up to 1.5 km/min. However, it’s noteworthy that Ather has recently revised its charging policy. While the Ather 450 (Gen 1 and Gen 1.5) will continue to enjoy free charging, Ather Grid usage for the 450S and 450X models will incur a charge of Rs. 1/min + GST.

Ather understands the diverse needs of riders, and thus, offers the option to upgrade to the Pro pack for both the 450S and 450X models. This upgrade unlocks features like Ride Assist, Ather battery protect, AtherStack updates, and Ather Connect (free for 3 years), enriching the riding experience further.

In terms of design and functionality, the Ather 450S leaves no stone unturned. The new coasting regen feature not only promotes energy recycling but also contributes to a potential 7 percent improvement in battery range, depending on the riding mode. Furthermore, the inbox-to-scooter feature seamlessly integrates with popular apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram DM, allowing destination addresses to be directly transmitted to the Ather dashboard.

Ather has also considered rider preferences in trip planning. The updated trip planner feature offers the option to select preferred Ather Grid chargers, even for intercity trips, ensuring a seamless and convenient journey.

To address practical concerns, Ather has redesigned the rear mud flap to minimize splatter on the pillion, especially when traversing dusty or muddy roads. This thoughtful addition also provides added protection to the rear mono-shock and brake calipers, enhancing the longevity of critical components.

Ather 450S delivery date

Excitingly, the Ather 450S and its sibling models will soon become available in a phased delivery rollout. The 450X, equipped with a 2.9 kWh battery, is set to lead the charge in the third week of August, followed closely by the 450S by the end of the month. For those seeking an even more powerful option, the 450X with a 3.7 kWh battery will hit the roads in October.

The newly launched Ather 450S will compete with the other scooters in the segment like Ola S1 Air, Bajaj Chetak Electric, TVS iQube, Simple One, Hero Vida V1, Bounce Infinity E1, and River Indie.
