Toyota Rumion MPV Overview
Maruti and Toyota has partnered to launch several cars in India with shared platform. Both the brands already shares their most of the cars including Baleno / Glanza, Grand Vitara / Hyryder, and recently launched Invicto which is a rebranded version of the Innova Hycross. Now, Toyota has launched the Rumion MPV which is a rebranded version of the Maruti Ertiga that offers almost similar features and performance like the Ertiga.
The Toyota Rumion MPV is already available in South Africa. It is rather comparable to the Maruti Ertiga we sell in India and does not receive much design or feature upgrades. When the Toyota Rumion goes on sale in India, similar things could be expected.
The Rumion MPV will be manufactured at a Maruti plant. It gets Toyota’s signature MPV front grille, LED tail lamps with back door chrome garnish, and stylish two-tone machined alloy wheels. The Toyota Rumion MPV has ample head and legroom for all three seats, making even long rides enjoyable. The Rumion excels in adaptability, meeting the numerous needs of modern families and their various cargo requirements. It has adjustable seating configurations and a range of storage compartments.
It features a 17.78 cm Smartplay Cast Touchscreen audio system, which offers support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This ensures a smooth integration of your smartphone with the vehicle. The Toyota i-Connect system boasts over 55 features, keeping users connected and well-informed while on the move.
Furthermore, the car provides compatibility with smartwatches and Hey Siri, granting users the ability to remotely control various vehicle functions. On the safety front, the vehicle incorporates advanced features such as automatic collision notification, tow alerts, find my car, and valet profile, all contributing to the owners’ peace of mind.
The brand new Toyota Rumion comes with a choice of two powertrain options: Petrol (NeoDrive) and E-CNG. The vehicle impresses with its strong performance, driven by the robust 1.5L-K series mild hybrid petrol engine. This engine comes with Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) technology, which not only enhances power delivery but also boosts fuel efficiency.
In terms of transmission, the Rumion offers flexibility. You can opt for a 5-speed manual transmission if you prefer a hands-on driving experience, or go for the smooth 6-speed automatic transmission for effortless driving comfort.
