The demand for electric vehicles is increasing day by day, that’s why every automaker is coming up with their Electric vehicles. One of the leading motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield is also planning to launch its electric bike in India but the launch is still some years in the future.
Till then the only option left for the bike enthusiast who wants an electric bullet is to convert the old Royal Enfield bike to an electric bike with some electric conversion kits available online and offline.

A Bangalore-based Bulleteer Customs has converted the old Royal Enfield bike to an electric bike. The modified electric Royal Enfield bike was first showcased at Royal Enfield Mania half a year ago.
Recently, a famous automobile vlogger BikeWithGirl made a video on the custom RE Electric owned by an enthusiast named Ricky. This modified RE Electric was built on Royal Enfield’s original chassis. The donor bike is a 1984 Royal Enfield Standard which was previously owned by Ricky’s father.
This modified Royal Enfield bike has a superb quality fit and finish. A large battery and custom-made Battery cover are placed at the place of the engine. The custom-made battery cover has engine look alike chrome finish fins.
The battery and motor controller are placed inside the fuel tank. This electric Royal Enfield modified bike is powered by a 5 kW rear hub motor.
Modified Royal Enfield electric battery charging time and range.
It comes with a large 72 V battery pack that can be fully charged in 6 hours and it offers a range of 90 km per charge.
Because the bike is completely electric, it has a reverse function too which is very helpful. Talking about the design, it has an aggressive clip-on handlebar, round headlights, custom instrument cluster unit, fat tyres, red color chassis, custom-made front and rear fenders, front set foot pegs, and a far set handlebar.
The riding posture of the bike is somewhat similar to what we see in Harley Davidson Street Rod 750.
Cost of modification of electric Royal Enfield bike
According to Ricky, it took him less than a week to modify his bike. The cost of conversion depends upon battery size and motor power. The modification cost of converting a regular Royal Enfield Bike to an Electric bike is around Rs 3 lakh to 3.5 lakh excluding donor bike cost.
