Duke 490, RC 490 and adventure 490
KTM is working on its 490 cc engine which will power the Duke 490, RC 490 and adventure 490. The new 490 cc engine will have a twin-cylinder to generate a good amount of power.
The Development of the 490 cc platform is successfully carried out at Bajaj’s Research and development centre in Pune with the help of KTM’s R&D staffs.

The expected launch of KTM Duke 490, RC 490, and adventure 490 will be in 2022. KTM has not revealed any pictures of the upcoming bikes but ahead of its official unveiling, SRK Designs has digitally rendered the KTM 490 Duke to give the fans a sneak peek into the design of the naked motorcycle.
Looks and design:
At first glance, it looks identical to KTM Duke 390 but if you look closely then you will notice that some of the parts are borrowed from the bigger KTM duke 790 and 890 Duke R.
The subframe of the upcoming Duke 490 looks the same as the one on the Duke 790. The taillight and rear fender are looks similar to 890 Duke R.
If we talk about the other parts of the bike then its fuel tank, front fender, alloy wheel, mainframe, and USD forks has been borrowed from the Duke 390.
However, the seat is bigger and would provide the rider with enough space to move around, while the headlight seems to be much sharper than that of the current-gen 390 Duke and resembles the one used in the 890 Duke R.
The Digitally rendered image of the Duke 490 shows that it has a familiar exhaust as the Duke 390 though it is expected that the KTM would use the different exhaust for the upcoming KTM duke 490.
The upcoming duke 490 will have similar engine features and technology like the bigger KTM Duke 790. However, the company is yet to decide whether the parts of new generation models will be manufactured by Bajaj Auto or not, as the company’s partner CFmoto in China already makes KTM models based on the 790 platforms
