Bajaj-Triumph Speed 400 Overview
Triumph Motorcycles, the renowned British brand, has unveiled two exciting new models resulting from their partnership with Bajaj. The collaboration has given birth to the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X motorcycles. As the names suggest, the Speed 400 is a street naked bike, bearing a striking resemblance to the Street Twin (now known as Speed Twin 900). On the other hand, the Scrambler 400X shares its design cues with the Scrambler 900.
Manufactured by Bajaj Auto in India, these motorcycles mark the initial release from this fruitful partnership. Bajaj Auto, already known for manufacturing KTM and Husqvarna single-cylinder lineups, is now extending its expertise to Triumph’s latest offerings.
Under the hood, both the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X boast an all-new TR-series 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC engine. This powerful motor generates an impressive 39.5 bhp at 8,000 RPM and a peak torque of 37.5 Nm at 6,500 RPM. Paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, these motorcycles also feature a slip & assist clutch, enhancing the overall riding experience. The Speed 400 will compete with the newly launched Harley-Davidson X440.
