Honda Activa Electric Overview

Honda Activa is one of the most sold scooter in India and it has the largest market share in the segment. Now, the Japanese bike maker Honda is planning to launch the electric version of its most popular scooter Activa and the production of the Electric Activa will begin to start this year.

As the market of electric vehicles is increasing, every automaker is bringing their electric vehicles. Because of the increasing demands of the EVs Honda is planning to launch 10 new electric two-wheelers in the next 5 years and Activa Electric is one of them.

Honda Electric Activa will be the first electric scooter of the brand which will be based on the current ICE Activa. It will be powered by a swingarm-mounted electric motor, a kind of similar setup which we see in the Hero Vida V1.

The looks and design of the upcoming Activa Electric scooter will also be based on the current Activa but it will be tweaked little bit to differentiate from the ICE model. It will get all LED setup all around and a big instrument cluster is also expected. It is also expected to get a bigger bootspace than the current model.

The upcoming Electric Honda Activa will be powered by a powerful swingarm mounted electric motor that will deliver enough power to compete with the other electric scooters in the segments. The top speed of Honda Activa Electric will be updated here once the scooter is launched.

Activa Electric range, battery and charging time

The upcoming Activa Electric will get a fixed battery setup that will deliver an expected range of around 150-170 km per charge. Honda might also introduce a removable battery option and a fast charging option in the scooter. The Japanese bikemaker has also partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to establish Battery swapping stations across the country.
