Royal Enfield classic 350 bike ambulance
The Royal enfield classic 350 turned into a bike ambulance by The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, New Delhi. The Modified Royal Enfield ambulance has named Rakhsita.
These bike ambulance will be used for rescue operations in the Naxal violence and other maoist affected areas.
A total of 21 bikes has been customized as bike ambulance and all of them are standard Royal Enfield classic 350. There are numbers of customization done on the bikes including casualty evacuation recliner seat, hand mobiliser and a harness jacket to evacuate the paramilitary troops injured in action.
The bike ambulance is also kitted with an air splint medical to immobilize injured limbs and oxygen kit for and oxygen supply on the move. The recliner seat of the bike ambulance has straps and adjustable footrest for extra safety.
For the rider, it has auto-warning system along with a dashboard-mounted LCD and physiological parameter measuring equipment with monitoring capability.
The amount of Rs 35.49 lakh has been sanctioned by the force for the rakshita bike ambulance project.
Royal Enfield classic 350 specifications
The Royal Enfield classic 350 comes with 346 cc single cylinder 4 stroke air cooled fuel-injected engine which produces 20.07 PS at 5250 rpm and 28 Nm torque at 4000 rpm.
The bike comes with a 13.5-liter fuel tank and 5-speed gearbox. Braking of he RE classic 350 is handled by 280 mm disc at front and 240 mm disc at rear. For safety it has Dual-channel ABS as standard.
