Hero MotoCorp has recently launched the highly anticipated 2023 Xpulse 200 4V, featuring several upgrades and enhancements. With a base variant priced at Rs. 1.43 lakh and the top PRO variant priced at Rs. 1.51 lakh (ex-showroom), this motorcycle offers excellent value for its price. Notably, the Xpulse 200 4V PRO variant is essentially the Rally Edition of the previous model.
Bike name | Ex-showroom price |
---|---|
2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V STD | Rs 1.43 lakh |
2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V Pro | Rs 1.51 lakh |
The base variant sees a price increment of Rs. 5,000 over its predecessor, which is justified considering the impressive additions and features incorporated into the new model. Standing alone as the only true Adventure (ADV) or off-roader motorcycle under the 350cc segment, the Xpulse 200 4V is a standout choice for riders seeking off-road capabilities.
Alongside the new model, Hero MotoCorp introduces fresh color options for the Xpulse 200 4V. While Matte Nexus Blue and Polestar Blue remain unchanged, the company has inverted the color schemes for Sports Red, coupling it with respective black elements. In terms of competition, despite its displacement deficit, the Xpulse 200 4V competes with the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan and Yezdi Adventure.

2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V is more refined now
Hero MotoCorp is renowned for consistently refining its off-road motorcycles with each iteration. The transition to BS6 emissions brought much-needed enhancements in terms of refinement and throttle response, which were further elevated in the 4V model. This newer version offers improved top-end performance, enhanced fuel efficiency, revised gearing, new sprockets, brighter headlights, and the ability for relatively high-speed cruising on highways.
2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V new features
For MY2023, the company introduces a brand-new headlight unit featuring an ‘H’ LED signature, with two projectors for the low beam. While this headlight unit is new to the Indian market, it closely resembles what Hero Motors offers in export models for markets like Turkey. Headlights were never the Xpulse’s strong suit, but with the MY2023 update, Hero promises a 235% improvement over the 4V’s brightness, which was already 15% brighter than the 2V’s.
Other welcomed additions include updated switchgear, a taller windscreen that provides better protection from wind blasts, and sturdier knuckle guards. The knuckle guards, previously fixed from one side only and considered flimsy, now feature better quality and fixtures at both ends.
Hero also introduces three ABS modes: Road, Off-Road, and Rally, with Rally Mode being the least intrusive. Additionally, an instant fuel efficiency reading is now available. Although dual-channel ABS and LED turn indicators would have been appreciated, they are not included in the new model.

2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V engine specs remain the same
The engine remains unchanged, with the same 199.6cc single-cylinder engine delivering 19.1 bhp and 17.35 Nm of torque. Notable features include the 4V head and oil cooling system. With a weight of just 158 kg, the Xpulse 200 4V is lightweight and well-suited for challenging terrains. The rear luggage rack now features provisions for adding saddle stays, adding to its practicality.
Apart from the ABS modes, the rest of the componentry remains unchanged. The base variant retains its long-travel conventional telescopic front suspension (190 mm) and mono-shock rear suspension (170 mm).
It also retains the 21″ front and 18″ rear wire-spoke wheels, equipped with all-terrain tires from Ceat. The ground clearance stands at a commendable 220mm. For those seeking even more off-road prowess, the Hero Xpulse 200 PRO variant is available.
2023 Hero Xpulse 200 Pro additional features
The Xpulse 200 PRO variant offers additional features such as compression and rebound adjustable front suspension, rebound and preload adjustable rear suspension, increased suspension travel (250mm front and 220mm rear), Maxxis knobby tires, and an impressive ground clearance of 270mm. Hero MotoCorp is further expanding its Xpulse lineup with a new 400cc to 450cc motorcycle, catering to the growing demand for higher-displacement adventure bikes.
The upgraded 2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V showcases Hero MotoCorp’s commitment to delivering an exceptional off-road adventure motorcycle. With its comprehensive updates, including improved performance, enhanced technology, and striking design, the Xpulse 200 4V offers riders a differentiated experience.
Whether exploring rugged terrains or seeking thrilling off-road adventures, this motorcycle is designed to fulfill the aspirations of adventure enthusiasts while also providing eco-friendly choices.
