The Yamaha Motors is all set to launch its updated version of the R15, The Yamaha R15M. The Yamaha R15M will be launch on 21st Sep, 2021.
The Yamaha R15 is one of the most sold and very popular motorcycles in India, especially amongst the youngsters. The R15 has received a lot of updates since it was launched. From the 1st generation of the Yamaha R15 to R15 V3, all the versions managed to win the hearts of the youngsters very well.
Previously it was a rumor that Yamaha will soon launch the R15 V4 but now the news is confirmed that it is not R15 V4, It is R15M. Ahead of its launch, The Yamaha R15M has started arriving at the dealership.
The bike has been spotted in two colour options – Blue and silver. The ongoing standard version of The R15 is available in four color options – Thunder Grey, Metallic Red, Dark Knight and Racing Blue.

What’s new in the Yamaha R15M
The Yamaha R15M is inspired by its big daddy The Yamaha R1M which is a flagship superbike by Yamaha. The front profile of the R15M looks similar to the R7.
The current R15 has dual headlight setup whereas the new R15M has a single projector LED headlamp. The sharp LED DRLs at the sides further enhanced the look of the bike and made it more aggressive and sportier.
The international version of the Yamaha R15 V3 has USD forks whereas the Indian variant has standard telescopic forks, but now The R15M has USD front forks. At the rear, The R15M has the same monocross suspension system as the standard R15.
Talking about the design changes, some changes can also be on side fairing, tail section, and LED tail lamp. The exhaust looks familiar, but it gets a metallic heat shield. In other updates, the air ducts on R15M appear to be larger.

The bike also seems to have been equipped with a larger windscreen. On both color variants, alloy wheels are wrapped in Blue paint.
Braking duties have been carried out by the same 282 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc. For safety, Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard with R15.
The Yamaha R15M uses the same engine of R15, however the power figures are slightly changed as it produces 18.35 PS power which is slightly less as compared to 18.6 PS of standard R15.
The torque output of the R15M remains the same as the R15 which is 14.1 Nm at 8500 rpm. The engine is mated to the same 6-speed gearbox.
The expected price of the new 2021 Yamaha R15M is Rs 1.66- 1.75 lakh which is Rs 10K-15K more than the current R15 V3.
