The most awaited and most powerful scooter, The Yamaha Aerox 155 is a maxi-scooter launched in Indian with a price tag of Rs 1.29 lakh and it is going to give tough competition to Aprilia SXR 160 and Vespa SXL 150. To know more about the Yamaha Aerox 155 read below.

The Aerox 155 is a maxi scooter by Yamaha. Yamaha’s new scooter will be made available through the company’s Blue Square showrooms by the end of September.

Talking about the specifications, The Yamaha Aerox 155 is based on the Yamaha YZF R15 series and the engine used in the scooter is also the same as the R15.

The Aerox 155 comes with a 155 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled SOHC 4-valve engine equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) engine which produces the max power 15 PS at 8000 rpm and the peak torque of 13.9 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to CVT gearbox.

The maxi-scooter gets the telescopic suspension at the front, while at the rear it gets dual pitch springs with the mounting angle increased by 2-degree for improved pillion seating.

The Aerox 155 comes with lightweight 14-inches wheels with 110 mm front tyre and 140 mm rear tyre, both the tyres are tubeless. Braking duties are handled by the 230 mm disc at the front and drum brakes at the rear. For safety, the scooter has single-channel ABS and the kerb weight of the scooter is 126 Kg.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 has LED headlight at the front and 12 compact LED’s tail light at the rear which gives an 3D appearance and accentuates the machine’s appeal.

Talking about the features, the Yamaha Aerox 155 gets a large 5.8 inches LCD screen with Multi-Information Display (MID) which showcased information like Speedometer, RPM, VVA indicator and Y-Connect App Phone notifications, Last parked location, Maintenance recommendations, Fuel consumption, Revs Dashboard, Malfunction notification, and Ranking. The information display can be toggled with a switch given on the handlebar.

The Aerox 155 comes with a Smart Motor Generator system for quiet engine starts and it also has automatic stop and starts features that help the scooter to deliver good fuel economy.

For the convenience of the rider, the fuel refill option has been provided with the external fuel lid given at the rear of the scooter. It has 24.5 liters of under-seat storage with a glove box at the front.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 hsa 5.5 liter fuel tank and it can give an approximate mileage of 45-50 kmpl.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 will compete with the Aprilia SXR160 which is priced at a Rs 1.27 lakh (Ex-showroom) where as the price of Aerox 155 starts from Rs 1.29 lakh (Ex-showroom)
